Greetings Fellow Republicans,
There is lots happening in the next two months here in Jasper County. Please mark these events on your calendar. Your participation will make a difference.
JCRP PRECINCT REORGANIZATION
Saturday, March 11th from 10:30am to noon, 1st Baptist Church of Hardeeville, 13 Main Street.
Makeup date is March 13th at 6:30pm
This is the grassroots – where the Republican Party begins. The purpose is to gather neighbors together from all 17 voting precincts in the county and organize them into the foundation of the county party. All those in each individual precinct will elect among themselves the precinct officers (president, secretary, exec. committeeman) and delegates who will elect the County Party officers at the April 1st County Convention. Attendees may also sign up to run for delegate to the State Convention to be held in Columbia in May.
Ultimately, we are building the South Carolina Republican Party so we can win in 2024 and retake the White House. It all starts with you on March 11th. All citizens who are registered to vote in Jasper County and who support the Republican platform are encouraged to come to Precinct Reorganization. Invite your like-minded neighbors. Bring your voter registration card or go to SCVotes.gov to look up your voter registration number and precinct name.
SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 2 SPECIAL ELECTION
Due to irregularities in constituents’ addresses, the results of the Nov. ’22 District 2 School Board race were thrown out, and a new election was ordered. Joyce Gerald is on the ballot and would appreciate your vote.
Early voting for JCSD District 2 began on Tuesday, February 21 and will continue through Tuesday, March 7. The voting locations are:
1. JC Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office, 1506 Grays Hwy, Unit A in Ridgeland and
2. St. Stephen A.M.E. Church Social Hall, 710 Main Street, Hardeeville.
If you live in JC School District 2, please show your involvement in your community and get out and vote for Joyce.
MORE REDISTRICTING
The Jasper County School District lines are still problematic and need to be fixed. There are two hearings scheduled for our Legislative Delegation to hear our comments and suggestions in order to change the school district lines.
1. Monday, March 20th, 6:30pm at Hardeeville Junior Senior High School, 150 Hurricane Alley, Hardeeville and
2. Monday, March 27th, 6:30pm at Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence, 250 Jaguar Trail, Ridgeland.
If you are concerned about the location and the number of districts Jasper is broken into, please attend one of these meetings and offer your constructive criticism. A better-functioning school district will benefit Jasper County students. This is an opportunity to make a difference. Please take it.
I look forward to seeing you and your like-minded neighbors at reorg on March 11th.
Karen Wyld, Chairwoman
Jasper County Republican Party
