January 2024 Newsletter

Greetings Fellow Republicans,

It’s 2024!  Good riddance to 2023.

This is the year we unite, fight and take our country back.  Law and order, sovereignty, the family structure, and our very moral fiber are at stake.  In these crazy times that’s not even being melodramatic.

Please plan on attending our meeting next Tuesday, January 9 at 6:00pm at Eats & Sweets in Ridgeland.  This will be a Meet & Greet for our County Council candidate Joey Rowell.  He will be facing a democrat candidate in a special election on April 23rd.  Finger foods and refreshments will be served.

It’s time to renew your membership for 2024.  You can join or renew your membership online at JasperGOP.org, at the GOP Campaign Office, or at our meetings.  Please support the JCRP’s efforts to grow our membership.  Your dues will stay here in Jasper and will be used to support conservative Republican candidates and operations in our campaign office in Okatie.

The GOP Campaign Office in the Riverwalk Office Park on 170 will be open on Mondays and Fridays in January to prepare for the February 24 Republican Presidential Preference Primary.  Volunteers are needed to staff the office on Mondays (January 8, 15, & 22) and Fridays (January 12 & 19) to focus on voter registration and poll worker sign ups.  The deadline to register to vote for the February 24 Republican primary is Thursday, January 25. (The democrats’ primary is Feb 3.)  There will be computers in the office to help people register and also to apply to be poll workers for the five+ primary & general election dates between February and November, 2024.   Please contact Karen Wyld if you can volunteer two or three hours in the campaign office.

Many poll workers will be needed to staff all the precincts throughout this election cycle.  Poll workers receive $235 for a 3-hour training and full day of work at the polls.  It is imperative that we have good Republican citizens working in every precinct to ensure fair and accurate elections.

All odd-numbered School Board seats are up for election this year.  We need good conservatives to step up and serve on the School Board to help ensure Jasper’s  students learn the skills needed to be clear thinking, successful members of our community.  If you are a concerned parent, business owner, or retired educator living in an odd-numbered school district, your talents and energy could be a blessing to the students of Jasper County.  (You can find your school district on your voter registration card or online at SCVotes.gov-check my registration.)  The School Board is non-partisan, but we will help good conservatives win these races.  Contact Karen Wyld if you want to run.

The filing period to run for local and state offices opens at noon on March 16 and closes at noon on April 1.  We already know of some Republicans who intend to run for U.S. House of Representatives CD-6, Jasper County Council, Sheriff, Coroner, and State House of Representatives HD-122.  We would also love to have candidates for State Senate SD-45.

We learned from the 2022 election cycle that running a full slate of Republican candidates energizes the electorate and increases voter turnout.  If you are considering running for public office, please contact Karen Wyld (kwyldk@gmail.com) or Tim Crosby (crosbyclan83@yahoo.com) and attend our next meeting on January 9 in Ridgeland (see above).

Let’s all get informed and energized to win up and down the ballot in 2024.  Let’s take our country back and restore the United States of America for our children and grandchildren.  May God bless America, and may America bless God.

See you next week,

Karen Wyld
